The Village of Carroll will be accepting letters of interest for the upcoming vacant council seat.  Effective September 4, 2026 the seat of council member, Shelly Squibb, will be vacant due to her resignation.  The Rules Committee will review all letters of interest, schedule interviews, and then make a recommendation to the council on an appointment.  The council will then vote and appoint a new council member to fill the vacancy, which term expires on 12/31/2027.  Please have letters of interest turned into the village office no later than 4:00 pm, Tuesday, September 22, 2026. 

September Mosquito Spraying Schedule

Mosquito spraying will continue through September. The scheduled spraying dates for September are:

• Tuesday, September 8
• Tuesday, September 22
• Tuesday, September 29

Mosquito trapping occurs bi-weekly. If rain or high winds prevent spraying, the scheduled session will be rescheduled.

If any mosquitoes test positive for West Nile virus, additional spraying will be conducted as needed.

Village of Carroll Online Payment Portal Now Available!

 

We’re excited to announce our new online payment portal is live and ready to make payments easier than ever!

 

Here’s what you need to know:

• If you’re already set up for ACH payments, they will continue as usual unless you decide to switch to the online portal.
• Want to handle payments on your own through the portal? Let us know if you’d like to discontinue ACH.
• To set up your account, you’ll need an email address and the book number (hint: it’s 1).
• Wondering if you’ll still receive a paper bill? The answer is YES!

Founded in 1829 at the junction of the Ohio-Erie and Lancaster Lateral Canals, Carroll was the only place in Fairfield County where two canals intersected. The village was named after Charles Carroll, the last surviving signer of the Declaration of Independence at that time, and was incorporated in 1858.

Carroll was a booming place during the canal’s heyday of the 1830’s to 1880’s and today we enjoy a quiet atmosphere and friendly residents.
